About Us

Our purpose is simple. We supply the ultimate personal and family protection, made effortless and safe. Our approach is never about fear. It is about confidence, clarity and trust.

Providing the ultimate personal and family protection

Our focus is on dogs who defend when needed but live as calm, integrated companions. We are based in Scotland and take clients across the UK, Europe and UAE. We do not supply stereotypical guard dogs or mass-kennelled security animals. Every dog is raised, conditioned and family-proofed in the trainer’s own home, not in a facility or yard.

Every detail of our training is proven and intentional

We understand the responsibility that comes with putting a protection dog in a home. Our process is robust, transparent and designed for peace of mind.

Our dogs are companions first, guardians when asked. They are selected, trained and assessed for sound nerve and steady temperament. Integration into real domestic life is a non-negotiable part of the process. Physical and psychological stability is not just required, it is the foundation. This is what allows a dog to move from sitting at your feet to stepping up as your protector.

OUr dogs are bred & trained to be part of your family

Our mission is direct: to offer unwavering dedication to your safety through elite, conditioned, house-integrated dogs. We do not compromise on welfare, obedience or clarity.

We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every home, family and risk profile is different. Our services reflect that. What we deliver is true peace of mind. Our dogs offer a presence and loyalty that no security system can provide.

A protection dog should not make your home feel less like home. Our goal is to give you comfort as well as security. From school runs to late arrivals, our clients trust that their dog is always present but never out of place.

Our Non-Negotiables

  • Every dog understands right from wrong and acts only on established command.
  • The home environment is at the centre of every programme.
  • Owners receive support, guidance and honest advice at every stage.
  • There are no shortcuts, rushed placements or high numbers. Only deliberate, careful matching.
  • Our training methods are ethical, structured, and backed up by research.
  • Each handler, as well as each dog, receives tailored instruction.

Andy Fairweather

FIFE, SCOTLAND

Andy’s interest in working dogs began in his teens, when he started training spaniels and labradors from local gamekeepers for the shooting field. Over the years, he has spent time with his own dogs in both training and real-life settings, focusing on practical skills and reliability.

Alongside his experience with dogs, Andy has developed a strong understanding of human behaviour, having worked in life coaching and studied NLP. This allows him to see training from both the dog’s and the handler’s perspective, tailoring his approach to fit each partnership.

Andy has taken part in various field trials and helps judge events as well. His experience covers gundog training, general obedience, and protection work. At the moment, he’s enjoying the challenge of preparing a German shepherd for IGP sport, which blends tracking, obedience, and protection work. Whatever the discipline, Andy’s philosophy is to combine clear communication and motivation with patience and kindness, aiming for confident, well-balanced dogs and handlers alike.

Jim’s practical background includes years of working with spaniels, not only in day-to-day training but also competing at field trial level up to championship standard. AN OPEN AN HONEST BUSINESS.

Protection K9 Scotland offers a different standard in family and personal safety. It is a top-tier, boutique service with a focus on ethical methods, robust evaluation and whole-family integration. Our dogs are not just tools or deterrents—they are steady companions, trusted guardians and housemates. You receive peace of mind because everything we do is built on safety, confidence and elite expertise. That is our unwavering dedication to your safety.

What makes Protection K9 Scotland different from other kennels or dog suppliers?

We are not a kennel-based or high-volume supplier. Each dog is raised and trained within the trainer’s household, exposed to family routines and public situations. Selection is bespoke. The focus is a companion who can become a protector by command, not a dog that lives on edge or under stress. Our methods are grounded in canine psychology, scenario-based training, and ethical standards.
